Coach Tony Walker

 

Coach Tony Walker is in his nineteenth year at Central High School.  He has accomplished a great deal.  Coach Walker has 10 District titles, 12 Regional titles, 2 State titles (89 and 06), 1 National title (2004) and multiple Individual State Champions.  He has been honored as Regional Coach of the Year in 1998, 2002-2007, State Coach of the Year in 1989, 1997, 1998, 2004, 2006 and National Coach of the year in 1989.

 

Coach Walker graduated from Texas A&M in 1986.  While attending A&M, he coached both girls and boys at Gymnastics of Bryan, under Pan Am and Olympic coach Patrick Yeager.  While student teaching at Richardson High School in 1986, he assisted Annette Reynolds with the boy's and girl’s gymnastics team.  Coach Walker came to San Angelo in the summer of 1987 with his wife Sherrie when he was hired by Athletic Director Dick Rittman as the head girl's gymnastics coach.  Coach Walker and Coach White shared coaching duties at Central High School from 1987-1991.  He is currently the SAISD gymnastics program director and head coach at Central High School.  In addition he is the Department Head for Physical Education and teaches Outdoor Adventure Sports and Weight Training. 

 

Coach Kern Arrott

 

Coach Kern Arrott is in his fifteenth year at Central High School.  He accomplished a great deal in his years at Central High School.  He has 3 District titles, 3 Regional titles, and 1 State Title (01) and multiple Individual State Champions.

 

Coach Arrott graduated from Texas Tech University in 1990 with a B.S. in Exercise Sports Science.  Coach Arrott was a former Bobcat under Coach White where he was on the 1983 State and National Championship teams.  He was honored to be named Regional Coach of the Year 1998, 2001, 2005, State Coach of the Year 2001, and National Coach of the Year in 2001.

 

Coach Arrott moved back to San Angelo in the summer 1992 with his wife Sheri.  They have 3 sons Cal (13), Will (10) and Nathan (7) and one daughter Jenni (5).
